Dr. Tim Yoder
Owner/Veterinarian
Tim was raised on a farm near Hutchinson, Kansas. He attended Kansas State University for his bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He graduated in 1988 and moved directly to Pella in May of that year. He started as an associate with Tri-County Veterinary Clinic. In 1992, he became a partner and purchased the practice in 1996, and continues to be the managing partner. His favorite part of practice is helping animals get better, especially through surgery. Tim and his wife Beth have raised four children: Thomas, Cathryn, Sarah, and Emma. Dr. Yoder enjoys his cow herd, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Holden Hooyer
Associate Veterinarian
Holden grew up in Pella and earned his bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Dordt University. He went on to graduate from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024, joining Tri-County Veterinary Clinic shortly afterward. Holden appreciates the unique qualities each species brings to veterinary medicine and enjoys the variety that comes with working with both large and small animals. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his wife, daughter, and their Aussie mix, Dunkin. He also enjoys kayaking, photography, watching college sports, and tackling home improvement projects.

Kathy Rieck
Office Manager
Kathy has been a valued member of the Tri-County Veterinary Clinic team since 1981. Outside of work, she enjoys caring for her farm, square dancing, and engaging in DIY projects of all kinds. She has two children and one granddaughter, and shares her home with dogs, a cat, chickens, horses, and cattle.

Hunter Piagentini
Groomer
Hunter has been grooming pets since 2016. She and her husband, Sam, have two children, Rhea and Stetson. At home, their family includes two Great Danes named Olympus and Kronos, two cats named Snickers and Rey, and five horses. Hunter’s favorite breed to groom is the Standard Poodle, especially when styled in classic poodle cuts. In her free time, she enjoys riding horses, participating in dog shows, hiking, camping, reading, and spending quality time with her family.

Michele Carlson
RVT
Michele grew up in Des Moines. After High School, she joined the Army before returning home to raise her kids. Michele’s deep love for animals inspired her to attend DMACC, where she graduated from the Veterinary Technician program in 2015. She joined Tri-County Veterinary Clinic in 2019. Outside of work, Michele enjoys spending time with her husband, their five children, and six grandchildren. She loves traveling with her husband, being outdoors during warmer months, playing with her dog, reading, and doing puzzles. Michele also treasures playing games with her grandkids and staying active in her church community.

Taylor Maasdam
Veterinary Assistant
Taylor has been part of the TCV team for five years. Growing up in the Lynnville-Sully area, Taylor developed a deep appreciation for animals, especially horses. Outside of work, Taylor enjoys driving Percherons for PlumeHill Carriage and working on the farm. At home, Taylor cares for her dog River, horses, and a small herd of cattle. Although passionate about all animals, Taylor especially enjoys working with horses.

Jana Voorhis
Receptionist
Jana was born and raised in Pella and has been with Tri-County since 2000. She and her husband, Chip, have two children, their son Charlie and daughter Julia. Their family also includes two dogs, Finley and Fletcher, and two cats, Roscoe and Ash. In her free time, Jana enjoys spending time outdoors, walking her dogs, biking, and relaxing in the sun.

Heidi Lyons
Receptionist/Kennel Coordinator
Heidi is a Pella native and is married to her husband, Dave. Together, they have four children—Karah, Kaleb, Khloe, and Kyrie—as well as a lively collection of cats, dogs, birds, and reptiles. Heidi joined the Tri-County team in 2019 after hanging up her stethoscope from her previous career in human nursing. Outside of work, Heidi enjoys crafting and music, playing with the Central College Orchestra, the Pella City Band, her church handbell choir, and piano. She loves getting to know pets and their people and has a special fondness for cats.

Doug Cummings
Head Kennel Management/Maintenance
Doug has been part of the Tri-County Veterinary Clinic team since 2001. He jokes that he enjoys working with animals of all kinds—especially his coworkers—but the dogs and cats are great too! Doug has played an important role in clinic renovations and continues to keep everything running smoothly through ongoing maintenance around the facility. Outside of work, he enjoys art and exploring a variety of hobbies.
